Okay well.. this post will show you how to tweak your blogger blog =D, add a custom domain, remove the blogger search bar etc. The tips are arranged in a random order.

1. Get Recent Comments.

Well i found a widget you can use to add a “Recent Comments” section on your sidebar.. the basic idea behind this is to encourage your readers to comment :D, really it works! I guess people just like their seeing their name on the front page :P but it does work.. you get around 60% more comments. You can find the widget here.

2. Add a small Chat-box to your Blog for Instant Messaging.

Well this nifty little plugin from Plugoo adds a small chatbox to your blog.. You can communicate with your readers instantly by configuring the plugin to your IM id (AOL, MSN etc) and you’re done! :P

3. Remove the Blogger bar.

I’m sure you hate that Blogger bar as much as i do, especially because it stands out (from your skin) =P which is why i decided to find a way to remove it, the old CSS methods don’t work anymore =( but after a while of playing with and scanning the CSS file.. and eventually i found a new way of going about it =D. All you need to do is add the following CSS to your template under edit HTML. You need to insert it somewhere between the <style> tags:

    #navbar-iframe { height:0px; visibility:hidden; display:none; }
4. Use a real domain name instead of blogger’s default naming conventions

Okay this is fairly easy to do but its extremely helpful, most of us assume that we’re stuck using the subdomain off of blogger :P but no, google allows us to have a custom domain, just go to your blog’s settings.. click publishing and enable custom domain and enter the domain name.

5. Spice up your blog, Intense Debate.. make commenting important!

Replace your default commenting system with Intense Debate =D, it sparks up your blog and compels your users to comment, Heres some information from their site:

Interested in the comments your friends make? What if there was a way to follow your friends and be notified when, where, and also what they comment? Intense Debate provides this functionality through RSS feeds for each user. Subscribers will be notified in their RSS readers with a direct link to view the context surrounding the comment as well. Give it a try!

Also, don’t waste anymore time checking back in on a blog to see if anyone responded to your comment. Now you can get email notifications of replies to your comments, letting you know when the conversation continues while you’re gone.

Well thats all for today =P i hope you like it.. i’ll post more tricks soon!
