This is a small Minitweak which will get you to squeeze out more performance from your SATA hardisk, i’ll be very clear about the risks that this involves, its completely safe.. as long as you don’t expierience a power-loss inbetween then.. theres a fair chance of data loss/corruption.. I’d recommend using it on a laptop since it has a battery pack in it, but since it only takes a couple of minutes.. i’m sure it won’t matter even if you use it on a desktop PC.
Lets Begin:
1. Open Control Panel, open System and click the Hardware tab
2. Open Device Manager
3. Expand the Hardisks option and Right-click on your hard disk drive and select Properties.
4. Go to the Policies tab and check the Enable Advanced Performance option.
5. Click OK and close Device Manager.
And you’re done.. restart your pc and you’ll feel the change..
Note: I’ve tried this on Windows XP only.
